Desert of Maine. This desert was exposed when a 300-acre farm was mismanaged, resulting in massive soil erosion. This erosion reveled desert sands that had been deposited there by a glacier some 11,000 years ago. The post shows that the sand is 8 metres deep at this point. Photographed in Maine, USA.
