Abingdon, England - 25 May 2020; One person in view, paddling a canoe. Abingdon claims to be the oldest town in England. If you walk over its medieval bridge early on a fine summer morning, this is the scene that will greet you. The view is dominated by Abingdon's medieval St Helen's Church, together with lots of pleasure boats, moored and cruising the river. In fact, this whole area is beloved of boat folk, walkers, dogs and people who just like lounging around! But today it's so early that the scene is almost deserted, except for a single canoe canoeist paddling his way up river.
