A narrow bandof almost normal white tissue persists at the gray commissure andbordering the post, horns. The root zone and Lissauer are practically free. Extensive degeneration of the lateral tracts, old and recent, asindicated by the dense whiteness and the cribriform appearance,respectively. Slight degeneration in one direct pyramidal tract.
