The Ponte Santa Trinita, Florence, Italy, 19th century. The Ponte Santa Trinita is a Renaissance bridge spanning the Arno and is the oldest elliptic arch bridge in the world. It was constructed by the Florentine architect Bartolomeo Ammanati between 1567 and 1569.
