A monument with the frowning face of a male gorilla from Africa appears upset that a teenage boy with one hand under his armpit is trying to mimic the great ape while visiting the world-famous San Diego Zoo in San Diego, California, USA. The bronze sculpture pays tribute to Ngagi, an eastern lowland gorilla captured in the then Belgian Congo and given to the zoo in 1931. The 635-pound ape died there in 1944. This bust was sculpted two years before Ngagi's death and continues to be a popular place to pose for pictures in the 100-acre zoo that is home to over 3,500 rare and endangered animals.
