Flowers, in many in- stances, very numerous; white, with the claws of the petals yellow; very fragrant. Lateral peduncles jointed, and, as well as the calyx, pilose, and almost hispid. Sepals almostpin- nately cut, long. Fruit red, ? ovate. (Dec.) A rambling shrub. North of Africa, extend- ing across the continent from Egypt to Mo- gador ; and in Madeira. Stems 10 ft. to 12 ft.
