Bust of King George III in grounds of Lincoln Castle that was previously on Dunston Pillar, an inland lighthouse.

The bust of King George III (who reigned 1760 to 1820) seen in the grounds of Lincoln castle, Lincoln, Lincolnshire. The bust once sat on Dunston pillar which was a huge stone column that was originally built in 1751 as an inland lighthouse to guide travellers crossing the wild heathlands south of Lincoln. The statue and one third of the pillar were dismantled in 1941 to prevent aircraft from Lincolnshire's RAF airfields crashing into them.
