Walled city of St Malo seen over yacht basin, from the Fort de la Cité, at St Servan, Bretagne (Brittany), France.

The city's ramparts were designed by the military architect Vauban, at the end of 17th century. Spire of St Vincent Cathedral rises above the rooftops. In the foreground is an old steel gun turret mounted above a German gun emplacement constructed in the Fort during the Second World War. The Fort was originally built in the mid 18th century.
