Nogal creek and a number of independent watercourses on the west side of the White mountains, often dryduring several months in the year, flow toward the Rio reservoirs, to supplement the present primitiveirrigation systems, would increase the cultivated area to100,000 acres, but until new sources of water supply are dis-covered the greater part of the county will be given up tostocK ranges and mining operations.
