Moving from thence to Xenia, Ohio, from where he, in the year 1820, emigrated to Illinois, and entered land from the government in Sangamon county, near Williamsville; a man who was known far and near by the early settlers as one of the sturdy and strong men of the earlier days, whose manly strength and wisdom did much to mold the social and political affairs in his part of the state.
