Dr. Kaupp also reports in the Breeders' Gazette that only 1 horse died out of 900 inoculated with a diplo-strepto- coccic bacterin he prepared, but the injections were made so late in the outbreak that its value is still problematical, since thousands of horses m the affected area at this period failed to develop the disease, although they had received no preventive treatment whatsoever.
