ST. PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH OUTSIDE ATCHISON, KANSAS, IS AN EXAMPLE OF NATIVE STONE PIONEER ARCHITECTURE. THE PARISH WAS BEGUN IN A LOG CHURCH IN 1857 BY BENEDICTINE MONKS AND REPLACED BY THIS STRUCTURE IN 1865. IT IS STILL IN USE TODAY
