The tail fin wasnearly square at theextremity. The secondlocality, also stocked in18G7 from the same loch, and termed Loch SheanMore, Arisaig, Inverness-shire, is smaller than thepreceding one, and notvery deep, but the wateris dark - coloui-ed, whilethe bottom appears to bo covered with small fish are vciy game, and rise lioldly. The head is very dark, nearly black, the sides yellowish olive, and the eyes prominent. A few (about ten) red spotsare present on each side, and thirteen to fourteen black ones ; having beencooked the flesh is yellowish pink. Dr. Hamilton examined a female lOy , and found forty creeal appendages, while the length of the head wasone-sixth,
