When Sir Anthony Caro designed Sea Music for the town of Poole he was a patron of Poole Arts Council. Caro donated his working time to the project, whilst local businesses sponsored the materials. The sculpture, sited on the quayside in the Old Town, was unveiled in 1991. A feature of the sculpture is its viewing platform which allowed the public to interact with the sculpture.
