Marine bacteria in cancer research. Pipette being used to prepare samples of a polymer (white) produced by marine bacteria. They are being studied for possible anti-cancer properties. These bacteria are found at great depths in and around hydrothermal vents. This work is being carried out at a centre operated by the French oceanographic research institution Ifremer.
