Every spring huge amounts of Ponderosa Pine pollen are set airborne by breezes in the Colorado foothills. At times the yellow pollen looks like fog or light clouds Ponderosa Pine pollen is relatively heavy and, thus, does not usually travel far before it settles on cars, decks and other surfaces. Serious health reactions to this type of pollen are rare. These photos were made in the Rocky Mountain foothills west of Boulder, CO
