Darrell Nordhagen, former chief clerk of payroll at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, sits in the cockpit of an F-22 trainer while being taught how the flight systems work at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, May 16, 2018. Nordhagen joined the Air Force in 1948 and served till 1952. During his time the Air Force still used aircraft with propellers and seeing the F-22, Nordhagen was very intrigued on how far the Air Force has progressed.
