Experiment on mice. Researcher H. Meyer confining mice in tubes, ready for radiation exposure investigations by A. Nettleship and P. Henshaw. In the course of these experiments urethane (ethyl carbamate), which was used as an animal anaesthetic, was discovered to be carcinogenic, inducing lung tumours in mice.
