He re-mained in this bank for 19 years and in 1882 accepted the positionof cashier in the brokerage firm of Chas. T. Ycrkes, jr. & Co. In1887 he became private secretary to Mr. Yerkes who was thenpresident of the street railway lines. In 1892 Mr. Furbeck waselected vice-president of the North Chicago Street Railroad Co.,and continued in this office until the sale of that road to the Chi-cago Union Traction Co.
