A mixture of Western Larch trees, Larix occidentalis, and Ponderosa pine trees in the Deschutes National Forest in Oregon. Large trees turns gold in the fall just before losing their needles for the winter. They are the only evergreen tree that sheds its needles. These are in the Metolius Natural Area, Oregon Cascade Mountains.
