Henry Ponn, Chairman, National Publicity Campaign. ST, LOUIS. The Market. The wholesale market in the early part of last week was loaded with heavy consignments and low prices prevailed. Generally speaking, the most of the stock was of poor quality, owing to the hot weather. Beginning May 11, prices shot up- ward as the demand became better, and May there was a general clean-up at the various wholesale markets, where sliijiping orders were piled high. Tliere was some complaint among the retailers at the sudden advance in prices, but the leaders iii the trade say the public wants flowers on Mothers' day and that advanced prices cut little figure.
