Marble sculpture of Hercules beating the Centaur Nessus, circa 1599 AD. By Flemish artist Jean de Boulogne, (better known by his Italianized name Giambologna). This sculpture is in the Loggia della Signoria, Florence, Italy, and was brought there in 1841 from the Canto de' Carnesecchi. With the help Pietro Francavill Giamblologna sculpted it from one solid block of white marble.
