California. This superb new Violet is looked upon as the wonder of the century. For size it is easily superior to any Violet now in cultivation, while for richness and purity of color, and fragrance of its flowers, it is immeasurably superior to all other single blue varieties. It is a single flower, and while of extraordinary size, it does not by this improvement lose any of that sweet simplicity peculiar to the Violet, but with its clearly outlined petals, it is the embodiment of graceful beauty. In color it is decidedly rich—a deep pure violet blue that does not fade but remains pure to the end. The flowers are produced in large numbers, a single plant bearing a hundred of exquisitely fragrant flowers during the blooming season. A very valuable and noticeable feature is that under ordinary cultivation the perfect flowers are borne on long stem
