Travelling Steam Lokomobile Maschinenfabrik Rudolf Wolf, Magdeburg-Buckau, 1862 This first locomobile of the Wolf company was used to drive threshing machines. It was in use from 1862 to 1887 on a farm near Strassfurt. Horses drew the machine to its particular place of use. Mounted at the front on the flywheel shaft was a belt pulley from which the drive force was taken. The single-cylinder piston-type steam engine is arranged directly over the steam boiler. The boiler is heated with wood and coal. The flames and then the hot flue gases flow through a system of 44 heating pipes passing through the water tower. They heat the water and cause it to evaporate. In this manner the steam which drives the engine is generated. Original Steam pressure: 6 bar Speed: 120 rpm Output: kW (8 PS) : 2562
