This is the modern shrine memorial to St. Swithun which stands on ther site of his shrine, destroyed by Henry VIII's commissioners in 1538, it was designed by Brian Thomas and Wilfrid Carpenter Turner and installed in 1962, the 1100th anniversary of the saint's death.
