Commonly known as snow fungus, snow ear, silver ear fungus, white jelly mushroom or white cloud ears, Tremella fuciformis is a species of edible fungus which is commercially cultivated in East Asia. It is valued in Chinese cuisine for its gelatinous texture and is commonly used to make a dessert soup and other sweet dishes. It is known in Chinese medicine for nourishing the lungs and is believed to have anti-aging and antioxidant effects, and is used in women's beauty products from China, Korea, and Japan.
