This is a scene from a traditional Swiss wrestling match called Lutte (in the French-speaking part of Switzerland) or Schwingen (in the German-speaking part). Wrestlers wear hessian shorts and the object is to press the opponent's shoulders into the sawdust of the ring. Even quite young children take part in competitive matches, as here.
