This species can be regarded as the ChiMijti type of the genus Nurtonia, and places itself in this genus, since all its characters attach it to the Odynerns of this division, but with a particular prolongation of the first abdominal segment. It is most closely allied to O. vestilus and excipiendus (Corap. these species). Hab. Chili. 49. In this species, the clypeus 9 is black, flattened, with two sinuatcd carina}, terminating in two apical teeth; the clypeus % is luteous, bordered with black on the sides and superiorly ; the antennas % are terminated by a sharp black hook. The is quite black, excepting at times a little ytdlow line in the middle of the i)rothorax; the first two segments of the abdomen have often only a very narrow yellow line, which is sometimes wanting or only indicated by an incomplete line on the margin of the iid segment.
