Black, thorax, with longitudinal bright yellow stripes, abdomen with one such stripe ; wings with three brown crossbands on their distal half; apex brown, coalescent with the third crossband. Long. corp. 8 mm. Face and front brov^nish-red : cheeks and orbits of the eyes silvery ; palpi dark brown, reddish at base ; antennae brownish- red ; arista black, reddish at base , short-plumose on its proxi- mal third only. Thorax black, with five fulvous stripes ; one in the middle of the dorsum, running from the collare to the end of scutellum ; one each side between the humerus and the la- teral corner of the scutellum (without encroaching upon the latter) : one each side across the pleurae ; these stripes, espe- cially the three middle ones, have perfectly parallel sides. Pectus grayish hoary in the middle, which color also invades the coxae. Abdo- men black above, with a longi- tudinal pale yellow dorsal stripe, of equal breadth ; male genitals Euprosopia Ugrlna. black; venter grayish. Legs black; first tarsal joints white, their tip black. Wings subhyaline; the distal half with three blackish-brown crossbands, attenuated behind, separated by very narrow intervals along the costa ; apex black, coalescent on the costa with the third band. Hah. Dorei, N. Guinea, Novemb. 1875 {Beccavi) ; one male. Achias Albertisi n. sp. ^. Very like the A. longwidens Wk. ; differs principally in the direction of the brown lines of the face and in the posterior crossvein not being clouded with brown. Length 11-12 mm.
