When the Disko Island coal mining community of Qullissat, established in 1920, was abandoned more than thirty years ago, houses, vehicles and personal items of every kind were left behind. They remain poignant and somewhat haunting reminders of a once thriving town -- now left to slowly decay on the Arctic tundra, Disko Island, Greenland.
