It is prepared {sevumpraparatum) by melting it over a slow fire, and straining through linen or flan-nel in order to separate the membranous portions. Composition.—The ultimate analysis of mutton suet has been made by Che-vreul and Berard (Gmelin, Handb. d. Chem. ii. 439). The first of these chemistsalso ascertained its proximate composition.
