As soon as the patient is brought intothe examining ward, we endeavor to locatethe point of penetration of the projectileand we lay him on his back or on his ab-domen, according to the case. If we discoverthat one or more projectiles are closer tothe side nearest the table, it is in referenceto this side that we operate. Without moving the patient we proceedin a method the reverse of the one ordina-rily emplo3ed. We place the square of lead,or more simply we apply the metallic(hand-held) indicator, tangentially to theshadow of the projectile, to the part ofthe body nearest the table. X.
