Egg Rock Island Lighthouse in Frenchman Bay, near Bar Harbor, Maine.

Egg Rock Island Lighthouse, on an island in Frenchman Bay, can be seen from various overlooks on Acadia National Park Loop Road on Mount Desert Island. It was built in 1875, on this barren rock island, and still flashes its beacon at five second intervals to mark seaward approaches to Bar Harbor. It was automated in 1976.
