Thisyear, therefore, the Missioncompletes forty and nineyears of history and entersupon its fiftieth year. Inreviewing the past forty-nine years of mercies andin looking forward to thefiftieth year to come, if theLord should tarry, wewould especially remembertwo things. The first is thatthe jubilee years of old al-ways dated from the Day ofAtonement; and the secondis that the Fiftieth Yearwas one Gods people were enjoined to hallow for,reads the command, it shall be holy unto you. We would therefore before all else remind our-selves to-day that in all our Christian life and serviceour starting point is the atoning work of our Lordand Savior Jesus Christ.
