OKLAHOMA - Adults moderate to heavy in alfalfa in southern half of State. Larvae heavy in Craig County and moderate in Woodward, Kay, and Nowata Counties. Larvae ranged 160-350 per 10 sweeps in Alfalfa County, up to 95 percent of terminals infested. Pupation started- cocoons ranged 1-3 per square foot. (Okla. Coop. Sur.). KANSAS -' Economic in scattered alfalfa fields in southeast district; some fields treated. Infestations heaviest in Labette, Montgomery Bourbon, Crawford, and Neosho Counties^ 80-100 percent of ter- minals showed feeding. Pupation begun in Montgomery County All larval instars noted. (Bell). MISSOURI - H. postica larvae ranged 200-1,500+ per sweep in un- treated alfalfa in southwest and south-central areas; pupation underway in defoliated fields. (Munson). ILLINOIS - Increased 10 times in southern areas, 100 times in some fields. Larvae 150 per sweep in some untreated fields in Washington and Jackson Counties. Economic (20 larvae per sweep) from southern Macoupin County to southern Jasper County. Egg samples ranged up to 207 per square foot in Johnson County, April 4. (111. Ins. Sur.). INDIANA - Larvae feeding heavy in extreme southern area, up to 50 percent of leaf surface consumed in some fields.
