It is safe to begin with only about half theamount usually recommended, ^ery heavy doses of fertilizer sometimes seriouslyinjure plants or produce a rank growth that induces disease. Fertilizers shouldonly be applied to plants that are well established in the pots and that have aboutexhausted the soil they are in. An application of fertilizer in such a case is some-times better than re-potting plants. B
