On succes-sive weeks Heidelburg, Nuremburg,Bremen, Kassel, and Stuttgart werelinked on; and by February 21 thenetwork was completed with the open-ing at Berlin. Only calls placed from Germanycould be handled, because of the dif-ficulty and delay which would haveresulted from trying to locate sol-diers to receive calls placed by theirfamilies or friends in the UnitedStates.
