The simplest method for indoor culture is to place a bundle of 25 pips in a 7 or 8-inch pot, filling it up with sand, moss, light soil or bulb fibre, allowing the points of the pips to be about an inch above the surface. They should then be placed out of doors and brought indoors as wanted, and put in a shaded place in a temperature of about 70 degrees, and when the spikes are 3 to 4 inches high they may be brought to where they are to perfect their flow- ers. We recommend clumps as most suitable for outdoor planting. Dreer's Peerless Pips. The highest grade of imported forcing pips. (Ready in De- cember). Bundle of 25 pips, $; $ per 100; $ per 1000. Muscari, Grape Hyacinths One of the prettiest of early spring flowering bulbs, growing about 6 inches high, and throwing up numerous spikes of flowers, which resemble a miniature inverted bunch of grapes. They are perfectly hardy, and for this reason they are largely used for naturaliz- ing, especially amongst the grass and in woods or other shady places, also in the Rock Garden. Armeniacum. Effective long stemmed Grape Hyacinth of deep cobalt blue, enlivened by white lacing at the aperture of the bells. Wonderfully fragrant. Very large flowers and blooms later than Heavenly Blue. 50 cts. per doz.; $ per 100; $ per 1000. White Grape Hyacinths {Pearls of Spain). Pure white. 75 cts. per doz.; $ per 100; $ per 1000.
