Accident involving red Ferrari Formula 1 car of Didier Pironi and Ricardo Paletti, a rookie driver after the Ferrari was struck in the rear at the start of the 1982 Canadian GP. Unfortunately, Paletti succumbed to his injuries. Pironis' Ferrari can been seem immediately after impact as it slides sideways off the track. To the right is the Renault F1 car which was also involved after impact.
After the accident, Palettis' car burst into flames with the driver trapped inside, he was removed and flown to hospital by helicopter, passing away shortly thereafter.
