The engine has athree-horse hitch and the wagon engine house was specially built forthis company, and is a modern edificebuilt upon the lines of the most approvedarchitecture, with the usual dormatory,bath rooms and sitting room. The company has a first class recordas fire-fighters and has battled with allthe notables fires of its district since thecompany went into service. The company has seen muchservice and has a record of which anycompany might well feel proud, it wasorganized in November 1884 and priorto its organization as an engine companywas Hose Company No. 6. it has ahighly disciplined and effective companyof active and intelligent young men whohave earned their laurels in many afirce fight with the all-devouring FireKing.
