On February 8, 1967, a dedication sign was observed outside the Marine and Navy Memorial Chapel at Dong Ba, Vietnam by Sgt. McVeigh. The Defense Department photo (Marine Corps) captured the moment. The sign honored the brave Marines and Navy personnel who sacrificed their lives in service to their country.
