Folding range with double leaf of thin leather and painting in gouache; Fronture of ivory, ajour and relief cut with gold and silver topped and background of mother -of -pearl, closing pin with stras, anonymous, c. 1770 - c. 1780 Folding range with double leaf of thin leather and painting in gouache; Fronture of ivory, ajour and relief cut with gold and silver topped and background of mother -of -pearl, closing pin with stras. On a stock with vertical stripes between which roses and flower garlands, which exhibits close relationship with French silk fabrics from this period, an oval and two rectangular miniatures in golden frames and two diamond -shaped grisailles have been placed in a symmetrical pattern. The Trompe-L'oeil effect is reinforced by the small bow tips above every miniature in the central medallion An outdoor with fashionably dressed children and a flower seller. In the square miniatures on either side of these allegorical representations on love with a putto with a flower garland on the left and a putto with a mask on the right. Well -known love symbols have also been incorporated in the grisailles, such as the open mouse trap on the left, which was compared from the 17th century with the fall in which the lover runs and the bird on the right. The leaf -filling pastoral performance on the leaf at the rear is much less detailed painted. However, the face is very similar to that of one of the girls at the front and both paintings might be of the same hand. The flower and love theme of the leaf returns in the decoration of the frame. In the middle frame, a man gives a flower to a woman and in the reserves on the right and left two children playing a flower wreath and a flower basket. In between from rocailles built-up cartouches with pastoral and music trophies, vases with flowers, birds and loose flowers. On the outdoor legs, among other things, two lovebirds.
