The LSO's primary responsibility is the safe and expeditious recovery of fixed-wing aircraft aboard ship. Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) is embarked aboard Truman and is providing close air support and conducting intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance over Iraq.
