70th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore, Eric Lomax in green hat, who's story was told in the film The Railway Man


The 70th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore commerated in the small town of Berwick upon Tweed in the North East of England attended by two ex Prisoners of War who were prisoners of the Japanese for over three and a half years, they were Henry McCreath a Captain at the time with Z Company of the 9th Battalion Royal Northumberland Fusiliers and Eric Lomax who was a Lieutenant in the Royal Signals. Eric is played by Colin Firth in the film The Railway Man adapted from his book. Eric is seated in his wheelchair (with green hat) next to Henry McCreath Based on his best-selling memoir, The film tells the extraordinary and epic true story of Eric Lomax, a British Army officer who is tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labour camp during World War II.
