Cardiac rhabdomyosarcoma, light micrograph. Primary cardiac sarcomas are exceedingly rare. Metastatic sarcomas to the heart are far more common. This image is an example of primary rhabdomyosarcoma of the heart. It is an embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma and composed of small, undifferentiated, hyperchromatic cells in a myxoid background.
