The Syrian town of Tel Abyad has been recently seized by the Turkish armed forces and the Turkish backed Syrian National Army as part of Turkey's recent military offensive to push back the YPG from the Syrian border, and to create a safe zone for the return of Syrian refugees in northern Syria. A ceasefire brokered by the on Thursday is suspending the offensive for five days to allow the Kurdish forces to retreat from the area
