As proof of this, we all know there are reliable men in the district who are, and have been for some time, buyers on a commission basis for Amer- ican and English firms. Thoy also paid high prices in competition with the Dutchmen, to get their orders filled. Too many different buyers after the goods direct is wliat is really respon- sible for the high cost. Some of thesd Hollanders had orders at "market price" sufficient to protect them, and in such instances florists find they have been charged plenty. Ralph M. Ward. DUTCH BULB SHIPMENTS. The Rotterdam boat reaching New York September 20 brought thirty-two cases of Dutch bulbs for R. F. Lang. The steamer arriving two days later carried a large number of small con- signments.
