Mount Etna near dusk. SICILY, ITALY: CAPTIVATING images show the beauty of Mount Etna through the seasons - including its most recent eruption. In one image, Mount Etna is captured as it looked peaceful on a tranquil spring morning in May 2020 above the foothills of Sicily, Italy. Another captured an entirely different dynamic as the volcano erupted into the dark night sky, setting the sky?s tone red and orange with smoke being spread from the top of the volcano in February 2021. In January 2020, Mount Etna can be seen covered with snow as smoke blazed out from the top of the volcano on a brisk, wintery day. These spectacular images were taken by official of the agriculture department for Sicily Fernando Famiani (56) from Sicily, Italy, who lives just 37 miles away from Mount Etna and took these images from the top of San Teodoro, Messina, Italy. These images offer an insight into Mount Etna through the seasons and how much the volcano?s appearance changes from one season to the next. Fernando captured these images using a Canon EOS 5D Mark III camera and with two types of lens: a Canon 70/200 L series and a Canon 24/105 L series. Mount Etna is Europe?s tallest volcano and is one of the most active in the world. The mountain stands at over 10,000 feet tall and the name ?Etna? translates to ?I Mediadrumimages/@fernandofamiani
