If given protection in pit or cold frame or unseated halls or chambers, these Violets mav be had in bloom all winter, but they wiU stand little fire heat s>wanley White. In pots it grows luxuriantly and is loaded with flowers. In the garden it is hardy with alight pro- tection, and greets us in early spring with a orofusion of its large snowy, sweet-scented blossoms. The growth of the plant is vigorous and healthy, bearing in great num- bers very large, perfectly double flowers of pure snowv whiteness and unexcelled fragrance. It is not uncommon tor a plant to have as many as fifty large flowers open at once, and they present a beautiful sight. Lady Hume Campbell. The finest blue Violet.
