190718-N-UT641-1095 NORFOLK (July 18, 2019) – The Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) returns to its homeport at Naval Station Norfolk July 18, 2019. Kearsarge is the flagship of the Kearsarge Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG). The Kearsarge ARG was deployed in support of maritime security operations, crisis response and theater security cooperation while providing a forward naval presence.
